About this file

This is a Contractor Questions and NPS Response document for solicitation 140P6026Q0053 issued by the Department of the Interior National Park Service Midwest Region for the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway fence replacement project. The document addresses four key contractor inquiries regarding project specifications and responsibilities.

The responses clarify that the new 7-foot chain link fence will not include barbed wire, unlike the existing 6-foot fence with 3-strand barbed wire. Only one set of bin blocks will be provided, with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) determining the placement between two possible locations shown in the project details. For electrical service to the gate operator, contractors may draw power from either the outdoor pedestal or indoor breaker panel, provided all connections comply with the National Electrical Code. Tree removal required for fence installation must be approved by the COR and will be performed by the National Park Service rather than the contractor.
