Questions/Answers PARK: Fort Scott National Historic Site PROJECT TITLE: Rehab Dragoon Barracks – 140P6024Q0028
1. Within the specifications page 18 1.4 Informational Submittals A. Engineering Survey.
We discussed this and since we are not altering the structure of the building, merely removing plaster, and installing sheetrock, that we DO NOT need a licensed engineer to perform a survey.
We can provide this survey, but the COR hosting the site visit, the other contractor that attended the site visit, and myself all questioned the need for it given the nature of the project. Can you advise whether this will be required or not?
Answer: The engineering survey is required to be done by a knowledgeable person, but it is not required to be done by a licensed engineer because there are no structural elements being modified in the contract SOW.
2. Is temp fence required? If so:
-Approximately how many LF of temp fence will you need?
-Approximately how many months will you need the temp fence?
-Will the posts be driven or on stands?
-How many drive gates will you need?
Answer: Yes, a site enclosure fence is required. Please refer to Division 1, Paragraph 3.3.E.6, Site Enclosure fence.
The contractor is responsible to determine what they need and for how long.
