HEHO_Masonry Fireplace Repair & Historic Stone Wall Sol_140P6020R0002 Question w/ Answers

1. Where will contractor be permitted a staging area for equipment/tools/materials?

• Section 3.4 of the spec gives the Contractor an additional 30 feet around each masonry feature for storage/staging. Given the separation between the 3 areas, providing a single storage area may not make sense; however, we can certainly identify such an area if the Park is willing to identify.

2. The price schedule contains Items 5 & 6. Does items 5 & 6 include both Stone Feature No 2 & 3 designated in the SOW?

• Yes… items 5 & 6 on the price schedule are applicable for stone features 2 & 3 described on page 3 & 4 of the SOW.

3. What is the height of the chimney?

• 12' 11" (155") to the top of masonry. Metal chimney cap adds approx. 8"

4. Can NPS provide an overall elevation view of the chimney?

• See attachment 3 that includes chimney photos

5. SOW does not describe or provide direction for flashing or intersection of the chimney with the shelter roof. Is the contractor responsible for flashing of the chimney at intersection with the shelter roof?

• There is no flashing at the chimney/siding intersection and the contractor is responsible at chimney/roof intersection.

6. Can NPS provide details or photos of flashing details at the roof?

• See attachment 3 that includes chimney photos.
