140P5424R0007 Amendment 1 Attachment 1

Question #1: Question in the fence detail there is 2 type of chain link 9 ga and 6 ga is this correct Answer: Yes, there is 2 types of chain link 9 ga and 6 ga. The 6 ga as stated in the SOW is for the fence detail located in Flamingo District on the Access Road. Pine Island Rapid Infiltration Basin 9 ga x 2 fabric is required in the SOW.

Question #2: Will the government consider removing the ISA Arborist Certification requirement from this project. We feel this limits the amount of vendors, such as us, capable of successfully completing the project due to not having an arborist certification. We intend on clearing the vegetation long the fence line(s) using a mulching head attached to a skid steer.

Answer: No. The government will not consider removing the ISA Certified Arborist requirement.

Question #3: The fence surrounding the visitor center / headquarters pumphouse needs to be adjusted and a section of barbed wire needs repair. Is this to be included in the proposal?

Answer: No.

Question #4: At the pine island rapid infiltration basin, is all vegetation inside the fenced area to be removed as well as a 10' perimeter on the outside of the fence?

Answer: Trim vegetation to allow a 10-foot-wide mowing strip around each designated area, access road, facility, and along “both sides” of each fence. Replace perimeter fence at Pine Island’s Rapid Infiltration Basin. Trimming is not required beyond the 10ft requirement within the fenced area.

Question #5: At the Pine Island Wastewater Treatment Plant, is removal of entire trees required if they are within 10' of the structure?

Answer: Yes with the exception of the Florida pine as stated in SOW. Ensure an acoustic bat survey is performed as required prior to removal of the standing dead pine tree located along the northern fence perimeter of the Pine Island Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Note: Any answers or clarifications that add to or change any information currently in the statement of work (SOW) will be incorporated before award. Acknowledgement of these answers demonstrates offeror’s receipt of updated info.
