Questions/Answers

1. The SOW requests on-site examination of wooden architectural components from Fort Jefferson with embedded metal pieces. There is no indication as to how many objects require examination. Can the park provide an estimate of how many mixed wood-metal objects are included as part of the on-site review?

o Approximately 10 items, see images below. They are very long and difficult to photograph in their entirety.

2. Can NPS provide a weight estimate for objects DRTO 3499 and DRTO 3500?

o The weights on these items is difficult to estimate. Our museum specialist is unable to even lift an end of any of the pieces, thus we estimate in the 400-700lb range. (That being said, I recall when they were moved into collections storage, we hired a team of movers and it required three moving professionals to lift and house the objects in storage).

3. Please confirm that all objects are located at Everglades National Park.

Yes, the objects are all located at Everglades National Park

4. Please confirm the size of the largest object requiring treatment.

L 117 to 125, W 4.5, D 10.75 IN

5. For insurance purposes: What is the monetary value for the Priority 1 and Priority 2 pieces to be transported to the conservation studio?

o The government is self insured and does not assign monetary value estimates for its collections.

6. Can you please provide the dimensions of the pieces that need to be transported (not all are listed on Priority 2)?

Priority 1) all dimensions are listed in SOW

Priority 2)

• DRTO 300618 is 36 cm in length 25.5 cm in width, 5.5 cm in height and a circumference of 9 cm
