Question #1: Can you provide an example of an acceptable window model for comparison purposes?

Answer: Burch Company Energy Miser Window

Question #2: The solicitation says we need to complete blocks 11c through 16c of the Solicitation form (SF-18), however, this form is not attached to the solicitation. Please provide the required form for submission.

Answer: It has been reattached to this amendment. Please see attachment #2.

Question #3: The RFP states that period of performance is 60 days. Custom windows are 8 to 12 weeks just to manufacture. Please confirm the period of performance can be lengthened based on procurement and manufacture time of windows.

Answer: Yes, this timeframe can be adjusted before award if coordinated with the Contracting Officer and the Contracting Officer Representative.

Question #4: Per the site visit it was stated that there is a specific window manufacturer in mind that includes the built-in ventilator system. Please provide the manufacturer that was used for the basis of this project.

Answer: No specific manufacturer is prefered, however, the Burch Company manufactures a window meeting the specifications necessary. Any comparables/equals offered will be reviewed.

Question # 5: Please provide any installation requirements that may be required as part of the historical permit approval.

Answer: There is no need for historical permit approval. The park has already done the compliance for the project and the signed compliance sheet is on file at the park’s headquarters.

Question #6: Please provide the window manufacturer that is intended to meet the historical requirements of this project.

Answer: Any brand that meets the specifications listed will be reviewed for comparison, but the Burch Company makes a window meeting these characteristics. Any comparables/equals offered will be reviewed.

Question #7: Are there any required impact or hurricane ratings for the storm windows?

Answer: No

Question # 8: What ‘grade’ of finish is required (2603, 2604 or 2605) for the window frames?

Answer: 6063 alloy architectural aluminum

Question #9: It appears that the historic feature of this project is governed by NPS Secretary of the Interiors Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. Will there be any state historical requirements or permiting?

Answer: No. Compliance has already been completed and is on file at the park’s headquarters. The Florida SHPO is aware of the project.

Question #10: Will this project require a Florida construction permit?

Answer: No

Question # 11: What type of glass is required for the windows?

Answer: Standard window glass

Question #12: What performance standards need to be met on SHGC, U-value?

Answer: .45CFM or lower of air infiltration per lineal foot of net sash perimeter at 1.56 psf.

Question #13: Per the site visit the historical permitting has been processed based on the window manufacturer. Please confirm.

Answer: Compliance has been completed for the structure and is on file at the park’s headquarters.
