BPA CALL HAZ Tree/River Snags Solicitation 140P5322Q0011 Great Smoky Mountains NP

Vendor question # 1. Quantity Does the Park Service have an estimate of the number of mobilizations, total trees to be removed, and/or trees per mobilization?

Customer Response #1:

No. We do plan on using all of the available funding for the performance period.

Minimum funded amount $ 50,000, NTE $ 100,000. POP: 12-month period.

Vendor question # 2. Strainer Hazard Tree Removal Does this require complete removal of all material from the creek or just establishment of safe recreational passage?

Customer Response #2

The goal is to clear the tree and to re-establish safe recreational passage. Each strainer removal will be different due to tree and stream conditions in specific area. In our experience from the past due to the narrow stream channel and the high volume of tubers full removal of all material IN CREEK has been required at least 90% of the time. There are tree segments and tree debris that is not in the creek on the banks and/or on rocks in creek that do not need to be removed depending on specific situation.
