Question 12. The other SW products are oil based and we understand they prefer a water-based product. Is Sherwin Williams SuperDeck Exterior Waterborne Semi-Solid Color Stain a sufficient product for staining the Harry Hampton Visitors Center & Park Headquarters Building and HHVC Well House?
Answer: The Visitor Center/ HQ building previously had Sherwin Williams "Woodscapes" Semi Transparent Stain used as the exterior coating with Sherwin Williams Superpaint Exterior Satin Acrylic House and Trim Paint used for the metal doors, jambs, and sidelights.
The SW Woodscapes Solid Color Stain was used previously for the brown buildings with the Superpaint Exterior again for the metal doors.
The park will accept this product (or equivalent) or one of better quality.
To answer the immediate question The SW Superdeck Semi Transparent Stain proposed below is meant for high traffic (horizontal) surfaces rather than vertical surfaces but is acceptable for the Visitor Center and similar buildings.
