About this file

This document contains a question and answer amendment to a solicitation for conducting endangered species surveys. The solicitation is for surveying five locations identified as potential bog turtle habitat totaling approximately 6.5 acres. The amendment provides the estimated acreage breakdown of each survey location, with sizes ranging from 0.09 acres to 3.18 acres. The primary wetland classification for all locations is palustrine emergent wetlands. This information on the acreage and habitat conditions of each survey location will allow responders to better estimate the effort required for Phase 2 and optional Phase 3 surveys. The related federal contract opportunity is solicitation number 140P4523Q0053 being conducted by the Department of the Interior National Park Service Northeast Region to conduct the endangered species surveys.

Solicitation 140P4523Q0053 – Q & A Amendment, No. 0002 Page 1 of 1 FRST Endangered Species Survey

1) The information in the Q&A Amendment, No. 0001 indicates there are 5 locations identified as Potential Bog Turtle Habitat (PBTH) with the largest area of PBTH being approx. 3.5-acre. In order to estimate the Phase 3 survey effort and required trap density we would need to know if there are 3.2 acres of DSA and what the habitat conditions are (i.e., PEM, PSS, PFO and vegetative conditions etc.)

If possible, could you provide the estimated acreage of DSA per location. That we will be able to estimate Phase 2 survey or optional Phase 3 survey effort for each location.

The ± 6.5 acres in five locations – acreage sizes in table below – is the Phase 2 survey area; the primary classification is Palustrine emergent (PEM).
