STATEMENT OF WORK:
The National Park Service, Acadia National Park intends to purchase two (2) hand-fed wood chippers for processing trees, branches, and limbs. This equipment will support projects on Mount Desert Island and the Schoodic District of Acadia National Park. Maintaining roads and scenic vistas free of hazard trees and obstacles such as overgrown vegetation is key to safety and increases visitor enjoyment in areas of incredible scenic beauty. Park maintenance crews perform hazard tree removal and tree limbing throughout the year and require properly sized chippers to efficiently reduce the waste. The current chippers employed by Park maintenance are obsolete, lack the newest operator safety features, and are at their end-of-life mechanically - repairs cannot be performed.
DELIVERY LOCATION:
The chippers will be delivered F.O.B. destination to Acadia National Park, 20 McFarland Hill Rd.
Bar Harbor, Maine 04609. Delivery shall be between the hours of 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Provide 24-hour advance notice of delivery.
