# Questions Answers

1 Can we get a forklift down to the wall? Yes.

Is the tree so fully grown that we have to cut down branches while scaffolding the wall? Are we allowed to cut the branches?

Contractors will not be allowed to cut branches. Any vegetation removal to the large "historic/legacy tree" will need to be completed via the NPS or Government of PR.

Can we hire a crane to get at the edge of the wall to lower down the scaffolding to the base of the wall?

There will be no access for a crane at the site.

Do we need any background checks or security clearance to work on the Fortaleza wall?

Background checks may be required. Contractor will be required to abide by the regulations stated in the contract clause 52.222‐3 Convict Labor.

5 When is the presumed start date for this project?

Pending funding availablity. Contractor will be expected to start and complete work within 120 days after contract award.

How often does this scaffold need to be inspected during the job period?

Contractor should have an OSHA certified specialst sign‐off that the scaffolding is up to code after its erected. NPS will inspect daily and notify contractor if adjustments are required.

7 Will this be a Light, Medium, or Heavy Duty Scaffold. Heavy duty scaffolding.

Are we able to keep all of our scaffolding at the bottom of the wall/ will it be a fenced area?

The work area will be fenced off and scaffolding will stay on site. On site storage (staging) will be limited to el paseo but shall occur during POP. No early staging.

Do we need Debris netting? Would they rather have it shrink wrapped for weather control and dust control?

Debris netting yes, shrink wrapped no.

10 Can we tie the scaffold into the wall itself? This can occur with on‐site approval from NPS and territory.

11 How close does the scaffold have to be to the wall for work use?

The scaffold needs to be within 16‐18 inches from the wall. We will be removing vegetation, power washing, and making masonry repairs.
