About this file

This document is an amendment to Solicitation 140P2025Q0001 for the SEKI 342662 project to demolish a ranger station at Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks in California. The amendment provides responses to four questions submitted by potential offerors. Key details include:

The project does not involve demolishing a shed, as previously stated. The National Park Service will mark and map existing trees to identify which ones need protection and which ones are to be removed. Regarding asbestos, the contractor must include a survey, and any necessary abatement would be handled as a contract modification. The power has already been disconnected at the site. The period of performance is March 1, 2025 to May 30, 2025.

SEKI 342662 ¿ DEMOLISH RANGER STATION

The purpose of this amendment is to add the following questions and answers:

1. In you solicitation you mention to demo a shed. I couldn't find any pics in the solicitation. Could you please provide me with a couple of pics, and the square footage of the shed? Also does the shed have any content in it or utilities to it as well. Answer:

There is no shed in this project.

2. How many trees do you want to have protected? Please confirm the number, and if possible, could orange paint be placed on the ones that need protection for identification?

Answer: Park staff will mark, map, and collect data on existing trees. They will mark/map

3. We can price the Asbestos Survey in with the initial bid; However, NO ONE can give you an adequate price for abatement until the survey is completed. Will the abatement of such be done as a change order because if any contractor gives you a price prior to the survey, then they would just be guessing in the dark, and not provide a legitimate price for such? The facility may end up requiring a wet demo to be performed via

EPA/EDP/OSHA protocol because of the damage deeming the structure inaccessible in some areas because of the tree preventing such. Answer: As defined in the SOS, there are no tests, samples, or asbestos surveys available. Contractor shall include a survey. Any abatement, if necessary, would be a modification.

4. Has an electric service disconnect been started on the project or would the contractor be initiating it? I ask because the process would require a couple months through SoCal Edison.

Answer: Power has been disconnected and the meter has been pulled.
