5. Question: I’m reaching out for numerous customers that are interested in bidding your Glacier Bridge Rehab. I have contacted the three High Molecular Weight Methacrylate (HMWM) manufactures (Dayton, Transpo, Kwikbond). Nobody can provide product or pricing for the HMWM product. All the manufactures told me to reach out to them in 4-6 months to see if they will have product available to even quote. My customers are all used to using the Bridge Deck Sealer which follows the MDOT standard in lieu of the HMWM. I have attached an example of one of the manufactures bridge deck sealer. There are numerous others available as well. Would you please let us know if Bridge Deck Sealer would be an acceptable alternative to the HMWM. Thanks for your time.

Answer: Please provide bid pricing for the materials as required per the contract (see section 07 18 40). Product substitutions will be evaluated after contract award in accordance with Section 01 33 23.

6. Question: The specs reference following Flathead County regulations for weight restrictions. Is there any more specific weight restrictions for each bridge? This would affect how the project is bid for hauling equipment and materials to each site.

Answer: Please see FAR Clause 52.236-10 Operations and Storage Areas – The Contractor is responsible for identifying route access that complies with legal load restrictions when hauling material and equipment on public roads and bridges to and from the project.

7. Question: In reference to lead paint removal. Would hand tool or power tool cleaning be acceptable in lieu of sand blasting?
