Questions and Answers

Q1) Please describe the condition and quality of observers noted and survey data.

a.) What format would the data be provided? (i.e. paper, pdf scans, other) b.) Describe how complete this data across the project c.) Are the observer notes digitally inserted to (or already present in) seismic header files?

A1) a.) All seismic and associated data will be provided in digital form (tif, SEG-Y, ASCII, P190, SEG-P, PDF, etc.) on a USB 3.0 digital storage device.

b.) The digital SEG-Y data for Task Order (T.O.) 1 is assumed to be complete, including observation notes and a final shot point navigation file.

c.) For Task Order 1, the observer notes are not contained in the seismic header file and are found in separate PDFs for each seismic section.

Q2) Questions regarding the survey / navigation / positioning data:

a.) Please describe the format, completeness, and condition of this data.

b.) Is the data present for all lines and associated seismic shot records?

c.) What is the format for this data (ie. paper notes, floppy diskette, analog ASCII data, pdf scans) d.) Are fully digital SEG "P-190" survey geographical coordinate files for each line/shot?

e.) Do we have the coordinate system conversions/merges/standardizations for this data?

A2) a.) PDF scans of observation logs are complete and legible. Navigation file is P1/90 format and are final shot point locations.

b.) The final shot point P1/90 navigation file has coordinates in NAD 1927 datum and UTM Zone 5 projection for every final shot point location.

c.) NADCON NAD27 to NAD83 Alaska including EEZ Area datum transform should be used.

Q3) SEG-Y seismic trace data ("the 2D lines") a.) Is the following information available: shooting parameters, sample rate in milliseconds, record length, acquisition parameters, seismic trace header data?

b.) What is the physical format of the data? (ie 9 track reel - to - reel, "Exabyte" tape cartridges, or digital data on DVD) c.) Considering this is 992 data, are there any known storage recovery issues? (ie, sticking or disintegrating tape or tape cartridges) d.) Is there any paper data that is required to be scanned, cleaned up, or digitized for input to the digital record?

A3) a.) T.O. 1 shooting parameters are found in the observation logs. The sample rate is 2 milliseconds and the record length is 6 seconds. The acquisition parameters are found in the observation logs and the trace header data are standard Schlumberger format. A format sheet will be provided as a digital PDF. Not all the byte locations are populated, there are no x, y coordinates in the trace headers.

b.) All data will be submitted digitally on a USB 3.0 digital storage device. No physical paper or mylar media and no magnetic tape or optical media will be delivered to contractor.

c.) See b.) above.

d.) See b.) above.

Q4) Regarding the project map a.) Is there a detailed project map showing the geographic location of lines and position relationship to topography and land grid?

b.) Do we have graphical and digital well locations for well and production to be tied to seismic data?

A4) a.) Detailed project maps showing the geographic location of lines and position relationship to topography and land grid may be provided if requested by the contractor in digital PDF format or as GIS shapefiles.

b.) Graphical and digital well locations and seismic well ties are available to the contractor if requested in digital PDF format.
