About this file

This document is Amendment #5 to Solicitation 140L6424Q0044 for the Gila River Tamarisk Mastication project. The amendment provides answers to questions from a previous Teams call and states that site visits can be scheduled with the designated point of contact.

The project requires the mechanical removal/mastication of approximately 310 acres of salt cedar along the Gila River in Arizona. Key details include an average salt cedar density of 10-15 trees per acre, with tree diameters ranging from 2-6 inches (with some up to 10 inches). The average height of the materials to be masticated is 12 feet, and the preferred remaining stump height is 6 inches. There are no requirements for chip debris depth or size. This is strictly a mastication contract, with no herbicide spraying required. The period of performance is September 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025.

Mesquite and Palo Verde.

-Remaining height of stumps/stems left behind post mastication is 6 inches preferred.

-There is no chip debris depth requirement post mastication, no size requirement for chips left behind.
