About this file

This document is an amendment to a solicitation for the Desert Tortoise Post & Cable Fencing Replacement project. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Arizona Region seeks to replace fencing on BLM land and requires vertical steel posts at least 1.5 inches in diameter and rails at least 0.75 inches in diameter, set in concrete using a post hole digger. Vehicles can access the fence line for construction. A BLM biologist will check for active desert tortoise burrows before work begins and relocate any found to avoid harming tortoises. No, vehicles can be driven along the fence construction line on BLM land staying as close to the fence line as possible. Prior to start of construction BLM biologists would survey for active desert tortoise burrows.
