140L5724Q0049 Amendment 0001 – Q&A
1. Can the grass hay be three string bales?
a. Yes, two or three string bales are acceptable.
2. Are there any restrictions or special requirements for unloading and stacking the hay at the Delta Wild Horse and Burro Facility?
a. A Teele handler is available to unload alfalfa bales, but there will be no equipment available to unload the grass hay. Contractor must supply their own equipment for unloading the grass hay bales. Bales must be stacked in a straight and tightly packed manner.
3. Is this a one-time delivery with all the hay needed on July 15th?
a. No, an initial delivery, with a minimum of 40 tons, of alfalfa hay will be required on July 15, 2024. After July 15, 2024 the deliveries can be made until September 15, 2024. Contractor must make weekly deliveries of at least 60 tons of alfalfa hay, with all of the required bales being delivered by September 15, 2024. All the hay may be delivered at once, but that is not required. Contractor must deliver all 50 tons of grass hay by August 1, 2024. Note, “three (3) workdays prior to shipping the hay, the Contractor shall furnish to the COR/PI the following:
Anticipated shipment date, anticipated total tonnage to be shipped, and the name of the carrier responsible for the shipment.”
4. What is required in the quote you submit and where do you submit a quote?
a. Submit the quote via email to Sam Marolt at smarolt@blm.gov with a subject line containing 140L5724Q0049. Contractors must include their total cost for the whole solicitation as well as their UEI number.
