About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for a rock hauling contract (Solicitation Number 140L4325Q0036) issued by the Bureau of Land Management's Lakeview Field Office in Oregon-Washington. The Q&A provides critical operational details for potential contractors, including equipment specifications, site conditions, and regulatory requirements. Key details include the rock hauling location being on BLM public land, with a stockpile that has been sitting for 2 years, a native surfaced road with moderate conditions and a mostly flat 6-8% grade maximum. The contract requires DOT regulation compliance, highway-licensed trucks, and allows flexibility in equipment selection, with belly dump trailers recommended for optimal maneuverability. The hauling route involves both highway and dirt road segments, with multiple delivery points along a single road, and trucks will be required to dump rock directly without additional stockpiling.
