Questions and Answers
1. What are the required quantities for both Jacklegs and Rails? Additionally, in the bid, the 1,500 feet mentioned – does this refer to the total length of the installed railing, or the length of the materials themselves?
a. 1,500 refers to the total length of rails, which would equal 375 rails and 125 rail posts.
2. Could you kindly provide the railing drawings or schematics for our factory’s reference?
a. Please see images and drawings provided below.
3. Would it be possible to provide historical purchasing prices for this item as a reference?
a. A similar contract award information is publicly available on SAM.gov. See the link here:
https://sam.gov/workspace/contract/award/view/140L3923P0176?agencyID =1422&modNumber=0&transactionNumber=0&refIdvPiid=null&idvAgencyID =null
4. How are the rails attached to the Jack Leg?
a. Please see page 4 fence specifications for drawing reference.
5. Are the posts double sided?
a. Yes.
6. Can the Government please explain what is indeed on the corners a ravines?
a. Ravine hinges allow for section connections through dramatic changes of topographical relief which would otherwise not be possible due to the rigid male and female connection points of the posts and rails themselves. Please see visuals below for reference on ravine corners; page 8 shows the 3-rail corner set.
