About this file

This document is an Amendment (Amendment 0001) to Solicitation No. 140L3725Q0087 for a Pinyon Jay Survey conducted by the Bureau of Land Management's Idaho Region. The amendment provides clarifications through three key questions and answers related to the survey requirements. Specifically, the document confirms that shapefiles for survey areas will be provided as an attachment, Survey123 and FieldMaps will be the required data collection method, and plots with previously detected Pinyon Jay (PIJA) breeding behavior or nests can be exempted from subsequent survey visits after initial observations are reported to the wildlife biologist.

Amendment 0001 Solicitation No. 140L3725Q0087 LSFO

1. Can shapefiles of the survey areas be provided prior to proposal submission?

Answer: Shapefiles are included as part of an attachment under Amendment 0001

1. Will Survey123 and/or FieldMaps be an option for data collection or will paper datasheets need to be used?

Answer: Yes, Survey123/Field Maps will need to be used. We will work with our state GIS team to create a map available for contractors to use.

1. Following protocol, can survey plots that have PIJA previously detected after the first 1 or 2 survey visits be skipped on the third survey visit, or do all plots need to be surveyed three times during the survey period?”

Answer: Once PIJA breeding behavior/nests are observed and reported to the wildlife biologist, subsequent visits are not required.
