About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document (Amendment 0001) for federal contract opportunity 140L3626Q0054 regarding UTV procurement.

The document addresses four key clarifications regarding UTV specifications and optional features. Regarding windshield and rear panel materials, the government prefers polycarbonate but will accept glass alternatives due to concerns about shattering during transport on gravel roads. For mirror requirements, the government specifies that only side and rearview mirrors are needed; street legal modifications with turn signals are not required. The government confirms it requires a spare tire that matches the 10-ply tires specified in the solicitation, to be installed on the spare tire carrier. For tire specifications, the government provides an example image of a 10-ply tire with a tight tread pattern to clarify the desired tire type, emphasizing that contractors are not required to provide the exact tire model shown but should match the tread pattern characteristics depicted.

Amendment 0001 Questions and Answers 140L3626Q0054 UTV

Q1: The model that comes from the factory with heat & AC comes with a glass tip out windshield and rear panel, not a poly carbonate windshield and rear panel. Is that acceptable?

A1: We would prefer poly carbonate, but if that can't be installed, we'll accept a glass. We just worry about the possibility of it shattering since we tow them on gravel roads.

Q2: Also, are you needing it to be street legal (with turn signals) or just needing side and rearview mirrors added?

A2: We just need side and rearview mirrors, no need to be street legal.

Q3: Specs lists a spare tire carrier. I’m guessing you also want a spare to go with that with a matching 10 ply tire correct?

A3: Yes, we'd like the spare tire to match the 10-ply tires that we're asking for.

Q4: Do you have an example of a “tight tread pattern” that would be what you are looking for?

A4: For an example of a tight tread tire, see the attached picture. It doesn't need to be this exact tire; this is just an example.
