About this file

This document is an Amendment (0001) to Solicitation No. 140L3625Q0074 for the Pumpkin Creek Restoration Maintenance project issued by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Montana State Office. The amendment provides two key pieces of information: (1) Site Visit Attendance Records from the organized site visit held on 22 July 2025 at 1:00 pm Mountain Time, and (2) Questions and Answers from interested offerors. The site visit was conducted by a Fish Biologist at the Cenex Gas Station, with one attendee from Core Watershed Solutions.

The Questions and Answers section clarifies details about project materials, including available wood (ponderosa pine and juniper) at sites 12 and 21 miles from town, previous structure monitoring, and site-specific vegetation use. Potential contractors can use on-site materials like scattered pine logs, sage brush, and locally harvested sod. The project involves maintenance of an existing Low-Tech Process Based Restoration (LTPBR) project along eight miles of Pumpkin Creek, with the goal of promoting natural hydraulic and vegetative processes. The solicitation is a small business set-aside with NAICS code 541620, and quotes are due by 28 July 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Mountain Time.

Questions and Answers

• Where is the material and is there enough?

o MT DNRC has several projects going on where there is material already cut and piled.

There is a mixture of ponderosa pine and juniper. None of the piles are sorted. The piles are at sites that are 12 miles from town and 21 miles from town. There is more than enough material at these two sites. The contractor would be responsible for collecting and hauling material to pumpkin creek. Additionally, there is a lot of ponderosa pine logs scattered throughout Pumpkin Creek that the contractor can gather and use. There are two piles of pine logs on the south end of the site that can be used. Any sage brush on site can be dug up and used for fine material.

• Has there been monitoring of the previous structures put in or fish monitoring?

o Yes, we walked the entire 8 miles of the site and marked each structure and noted if the structure needed to be rebuilt, if it blew out, if it was working, etc. We also began recording sinuosity to monitor any changes over the years in sinuosity. We surveyed one fish monitoring site so far and found the normal assemblage of fishes in the furthest upstream site, plus a Goldeye which would have sawm up from Yellowstone.

• Can we use sod?

o Yes, you can use any sod you harvest on site, use as much prairie cordgrass as you want.

If you were to bring sod in from somewhere else, it will need to be certified weed free.
