SOLICITATION: 140L3423Q0006

MARCH 20, 2023

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS DOCUMENT

1. Is minor excavation or earthwork included in the price per foot for fence installation?

A. Yes

2. After today, can we view the fence prior to the quotes being due?

A. Yes, as a courtesy please coordinate with the landowners. There will not be another organized site tour, so you must view it on your own. Questions close one week prior to the closing date of the RFQ.

3. Will we need to provide certifications on contractor furnished materials.

A. Yes, per the specifications.

4. Will any handwork be required for the project?

A. Some handwork may be required on the project. It is up to the Contractor to determine the process for building within the requirements.

5. Is the site accessible by side-by-sides?

A. Yes, a majority of the fence has previously been accessed by a side-by-side.

6. Are there many rocks on the project?

A. The known rocks on the project consist of sandstone. There is no guarantee that there are no other types of rock on the project.

7. Will a dozer be needed for the clearing and/or installation of the fence?

A. It is anticipated a dozer shall not be needed. A skid-steer should be sufficient but that is at the contractor’s discretion.

8. Is it acceptable to start the project in July?

A. No, the project needs to be started as soon as the ground conditions/weather are suitable.

9. If trees, shrubs are moved out of the fence line and then piled, is it the contractor’s responsibility to dispose of them or do they stay in piles? It is not addressed in the specifications.

A. It is the contractor’s responsibility to remove them from the site. The specifications have been updated to reflect this requirement.
