Statement of Work (SOW):
CRVFO Spring Creek Fire ESR Aerial Seed Application Section A- Introduction
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) seeks to utilize aerial applications to broadcast seed on the Spring Creek Fire burn area located within the Colorado River Valley Field Office (CRVFO). The application of seed will expediate the establishment of a desirable herbaceous perennial grass, forb, and shrub community that will stabilize vulnerable soils, reduce the threat of noxious weeds, and restore structural groups that are missing in the post-fire environment.
Approximately 600 acres of BLM managed lands with slopes under 35%, and areas that experienced high and moderate burn severity will be aerially seeded with native species in winter of 2024.
Section B- Description of Work and Location of Treatment Areas
Description of Work: Apply mixed seed at a uniform rate per horizontal acre, minimizing drift outside treatment boundaries. Seed strips shall be distributed in such a manner as to secure a high uniformity of seed distribution. Such distribution shall not vary more than 10 percent above or below the average distribution of seed per unit of surface specified for each area. Electronic mapping of the aerial application pattern shall be provided to the government upon completion of application. The maximum pounds per acre of seed to be aerially applied is listed in Table 1.
Location of Project Areas: Work under this contract is on BLM managed lands within the perimeter of the Spring Creek Fire, located approximately 5 miles southwest of Parachute, Colorado in the CRVFO. A map of the project area is attached in Appendix A.
Section C - Schedule of Items
Performance time: The treatment will be allowed two calendar days (weather permitting) continuous work.
Estimated Start Work Date: The seeding application will commence between 02/13/24 and 3/30/24 as specified in the period of performance provided in Table 1.
