Questions and Answers received A. I am a little confused on the bill of materials. I included what the RFQ states below. I see you are requesting 2” Galvanized pipe however what schedule pipe to you want. The confusing part to me is the part below. Are you asking for galvanized interior with an exterior epoxy coating with stainless steel couplings? Reason I ask is because epoxy won’t stick to a galvanized finish, and you don’t want to mix stainless couplings with galvanized pipe as it would create contamination. Could you please clarify this for me?

a. Specifications came from a local vendor during the customer market research phase. The coating is to add longevity to the pipe. The current pipe being used for the livestock water is 2 7/8" used oil field pipe. Some areas the pipe is exposed and some areas it is covered with dirt. The soil that the pipe is in, is slowly eating/eroding the pipe. The thought was the epoxy coating would expand the life of the pipe. The quote from the vendor also included used and new oil field pipe, but it was more expensive than the galvanized pipe with the epoxy coating.

b. STD GALVANIZED INTERIOR 2” PIPE W/ EPOXY COATED EXTERIOR, THREADED BOTH ENDS, 21’ LENGETHS, INCLUDES 2” STAINLESS STEEL COUPLING.

B. What is the road conditions to the delivery site?

a. The road to the delivery site is dirt. Cattle trucks use the road to haul cattle in and out of the area. Road is subjected to wet season conditions which does get muddy.
