QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Are the stem counts for estimated stems that will be cut per/acre, or a total stem count per/acre that includes leave trees?

The stem counts are for stems to be cut per acre. The cutting specs is for juniper 7" diameter or less and 8' in height or less. Juniper that fall within that specification are estimate to range from 50-100 stems/ acre in moderate and >100 stems/acre in heavy loading.

Should we not be represented on CPARS, can we still qualify for this project based on our project references?

Should you not be represented in CPARS, then yes, you still qualify for this project. Just be sure to include your previous project references and adhere to 52.212-2 Evaluation Criteria.

Will the contractor be responsible for flagging trees for removal?

Trees flagged that are within project boundary and size specifications should be cut.

Are there staging areas onsite (Contractor provided Conex Box) Not all units have a staging area for trailers of conex boxes to be left on site.

Can the parcel maps be shared as KMZ files?

Yes - mapping data in a preferred format can be provided after award.

Are the Wages Davis Bacon or Forestry Wages?

Forestry Wages

Is the use of Avenza or mapping software required for this project?

Not required but very helpful for a contract to navigate the units/ boundaries/ property lines etc.

Is the owner responsible for parcel boundary demarcation of each zone?

The unit boundaries will not be laid out with flagging, contractors will be provided digital geo referenced maps to be used in project completion.

Is the acreage determined by surface area or Planview?

Surface Area

Moderate density is defined as 50-100 trees; however, high density is defined as 100 or more trees. Can the owner further define what the maximum density of these areas are to be of the high density? (Contractors need to be bidding off the same quantities).

Heavy loading is defined as stems within specs (7”dbh and 8’ height) to be greater than 100 stems per acre. Total stem per acre to complete the contract. loading was not calculated.

Due to the contract work window of October 1st through April 30th, if there are days of significant weather that impacts the construction schedule, there will be additional calendar days The desired operating period is Oct1-Apr30. Should substantial weather limit the contractors ability to complete the project, operations after Apr30 can be negotiated… whoever other restrictions may limit operations after Apr30, such as nesting migratory bird exclusions and surveys. Weather limiting access and operating windows SHOULD be expected.
