TK Jones Parking Lot Improvements – Phase II, AZ
Questions and Answers
1. I still do not see any plan pages for this project in the solicitation attachments from
SAM.gov. In the Solicitation PDF, I see on page 5 “Section C: Specifications -
Drawings” where it then says on page 8 that the specs and drawings are attached in section J. In section J (page 30), there are still no plans. Do any plans exist? Please advise.
A: No project-specific drawings have been prepared for this contract. The references to drawings in the solicitation and specifications were included in error and can be disregarded.
2. Based on Attachment 1 – Maps, it looks like the scope involves a single 6-inch layer of ABC, compacted, followed by asphalt paving per the applicable specs. Can you confirm if this is the intended scope of work?
A: The intended scope of work includes full-depth reclamation (FDR) of the existing pavement and/or base material to a depth of 8 inches, with additional crushed aggregate added as needed, followed by compaction and paving. Please refer to
Section 304 — Full Depth Reclamation, particularly subsection 304.01, for details on this process.
3. There’s a bid item for “curbing preparation and paint.” Is this referring to constructing a full concrete curb around the parking lot, or just installing and painting curb stops?
A: No new curbing or curb stops are included in this scope. The work involves surface preparation and repainting of existing curbs in designated colors. Refer to
Section 103.04, Summary of Work, for a detailed description of the curb preparation and painting requirements.
4. Where should excess material be taken for disposal?
A: The Government will provide a designated location for disposal of excess soil and aggregate within the Imperial Dam Long-Term Visitor Area, approximately 2 miles from the project site.
5. Does this project require a California contractor’s license to perform the work, or is it not required since it’s a federal job on federal land?
A: Solicitation 140L0625B0007 contains FAR provision 52.236-7 Permits and
Responsibilities. The FAR clause discusses the various requirements needed for complying with any applicable regulations in regard to the performance of the work.
6. Are there specific bid bond forms required for the TK Jones Parking Lot
Improvements – Phase II Solicitation No. 140L06625B0007?
A: Yes. Please see the requirements listed in Section L-8.
