About this file
This document is a set of Questions and Answers related to the FY24 UPPER SLIP STEWARDSHIP federal contract opportunity.
The key details are:
- Contractor must coordinate county road maintenance with the local County Road and Bridge department and is responsible for reclaiming any new temporary roads.
- Vendors can receive assistance on the Technical Proposal from the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC).
- For Unit 2, the 20-foot by 20-foot tree spacing is measured from adjacent trees less than 6 inches, not trees greater than 6 inches.
- Invoices can be submitted twice per unit, at 50% and 100% completion, as determined by the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).
- Stewardship credits must be earned by completing service work, with the project inspector documenting the credited acres. Earned credits allow for the removal of commercial product.
- Unit 1 has Northern Goshawk nests, so heavy equipment is prohibited from entering that unit during the breeding season of April 1 to August 15, unless wildlife surveys determine the nests are inactive after July 15.

Important Topic Discussed
Unit 1 is near a cluster of Northern Goshawk nests so heavy equipment shall not enter Unit 1 from April 1st – August 15th every year. Wildlife biologists can do Goshawk surveys to see if nests are active after July 15th, if nests are inactive biologist could allow work to begin before august 15th.
