The NVSO patrol is to occur on weekends and holidays, with two random non-concurrent patrols during each 24 hour period. Vendor Questions and Answers

140L0624Q0024--Security Guard Services -- BLM Nevada

For the NVSO alarm response, an armed guard is expected to respond to the alarm notification after hours at the BLM NV State Office location. This includes conducting a mobile and foot patrol of the facility to identify any suspected criminal activity or potential intrusion. Once the facility and perimeter have been cleared, the guard is relieved of their duties for the response.

10. Licensing Requirements: The solicitation mentions the need for an "Armed Private

Investigator License Board Certificate." However, I would like to inquire if an Armed Security

License would also be acceptable for this contract. The duties mentioned seem to align closely with standard armed security guard responsibilities, and the requirements for both licenses have significant overlaps. Could you please confirm if the Armed Security License is permissible?

Answer: No

11. Staffing Requirements for Palomino Valley Center (PVC): The solicitation details the need for two (2) armed onsite guards at the NVSO, specifying one (1) full-time guard from 7:30 a.m.

to 4:30 p.m. and one (1) part-time guard from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday

(excluding Federal holidays). Could you please clarify how many security guards are required for the Palomino Valley Center (PVC), and what their specific hours would be?

Thank you in advance for your assistance and clarification on these matters.

Answer: There are no staffing requirements for Palomino Valley on a daily basis. The only time any security guard staff would be present and onsite is when they are conducting the random patrols on the weekends and holidays.

12. For the patrols at both locations on weekends and holidays, as well as the alarm response at NVSO on evenings, weekends, and holidays, are these 24/7 posts where the guards will be onsite? Or, would the guards only be onsite for the duration of the two random patrols and responding to alarm activations?

Answer: The guard posts are not manned 24/7; there is a set schedule to provide coverage during normal business hours at the NVSO location. The random patrols cover weekends and holidays only, and should occur within a 24 hour period. The guards will only be onsite for the duration of the patrols, and the patrols should be staggered and not form a pattern. The alarm activations response after hours only requires the guards to be onsite to check the premises for irregular or suspicious activity. After the premises check has been completed and no action is required, then the guards will be relieved of their duties for the response.
