The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Wild Horse and Burro Program protects, manages, and controls wild horses and burros under the authority of the Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act of 1971 to ensure that healthy herds thrive on healthy rangelands. As mandated by Congress, animals are removed from the range periodically to maintain a thriving, natural, ecological balance on the range. These animals are offered for adoption or sale and can be transferred as work animals. 5. Up to 3 federal employees will accompany the animals on each flight
6. Holding, care, and maintenance for up to 1 week at embarkation point after flight
7. Projected approximate cost of each line item
8. Approximate total budget required to implement this project
