About this file
This document is a set of Questions and Answers (Q&A) related to Solicitation Number 140G0324Q0232 for DRILLING SHALLOW MONITORING WELLS, issued by the Department of the Interior US Geological Survey Office of Acquisitions and Grants.
The Q&A addresses several logistical questions about the project, including whether there will be a site visit (there is no scheduled site visit), whether the well locations are physically marked (there are no physical markers), and how to coordinate access to the sites (the USGS will coordinate with the city of Phoenix for gate access). The document also provides details on the site accessibility, indicating that all sites should be accessible by 4x4 vehicles, with the most downstream site having some areas of deeper sand. Additionally, the Q&A confirms that the hole will need to accommodate a 2-inch diameter casing, and that the vendor will be responsible for creating the well diagram as part of the Arizona Department of Water Resources permit process. The USGS does not have a technical information for the piezometer.

140G0324Q0232_ Amendment 01 Questions and Answers
• Will there be a Site Visit? There is no site visit scheduled at this time.
• Are the well location market physically on site? There are no physical markers on site at this time.
• Is there a way we can coordinate with the city or county for access? There is access on foot with a short hike to the two most upstream locations. There no scheduled site visit with access for you to drive through the gates though.
• Are the areas that the drilling is to take place accessible with regular 4X4 vehicles or do we need track vehicles? All sites should be accessible by 4x4 vehicles. The two most upstream sites are along a maintenance road in very good condition. The most downstream site is accessible via a road that is traveled less often, and sand is deeper for short stretches.
• If access is controlled, who do we need to coordinate with to gain access? The USGS will coordinate with the city of Phoenix for gate access during the project.
• Can you tell me the diameter of the hole that the GOV needs drilled? The hole will need to accommodate a 2-inch diameter casing.
• Does the GOV have well diagram that you can provide?
The well diagram should be created by the vendor as part of the Arizona Department of Water Resources permit.
• Does the GOV have the technical information for the piezometer? No
