STATEMENT OF WORK

WFRC PROCESS WATER VAULT CLEANING

1.0 INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND

The Seattle WFRC requires vacuum truck cleaning of the approximately 12,156 gallon process water settling vault located under the parking lot between the wet laboratory and the facilities building. The tank is 8’ diameter corrugated steel x 32’-4” long. It has a 7’ fill level yielding approximately 11,384-gallon capacity. The vault is accessed by a manhole cover in the parking lot. It is estimated to have approximately 10 tons of wet sediment accumulation that will be removed. The vault is used to hold 2-3 ppm of chlorinated process water for a one-hour period before being dechlorinated and returned to the Magnuson Park wet land.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) Western Fisheries Research Center (WFRC) located in Seattle, Washington.
