Site Visit

FAR 52.237-1 - SITE VISIT (APR 1984)

Offerors or quoters are urged and expected to inspect the site where services are to be performed and to satisfy themselves regarding all general and local conditions that may affect the cost of contract performance, to the extent that the information is reasonably obtainable. In no event shall failure to inspect the site constitute grounds for a claim after contract award.

An organized site visit has been scheduled for –

Wednesday January 3rd, 2024, from 12:30PM to 1:30PM local time.

Questions and Answers

Q1: Are you able to tell me what kind of sprinklers are on the property?

A1: Sprinklers will need to be inspected by the contractor to make sure it is identified correctly.

Q2: Are you able to tell me how many living units are on the property? Also, are there recent inspection reports available?

A2: There are transient quarters on the property and are in a separate building. They are not covered by this fire protection system and are not part of the SOW. The last inspection report for the work required under the SOW is attached.

Q3: Can you provide a copy of the last fire protection inspection reports?

A3: Yes. Please see Attachment 1 “Inspection and Deficiency Report 05122023”.

Q4: The SOW only addresses fire sprinkler systems and doesn’t specify any work on the fire alarm systems. Are the fire alarm systems inspections to be included in the SOW?

A4: Please see SOW I General Requirements, Section D Scope: This project will provide the necessary personnel, equipment, and materials required to complete a 5-year inspection/confidence test, as required, on the Fire panel and Fire system; inspect/replace leaking sprinkler head in mailroom; and correct panel wiring issue identified during the annual inspection at USGS – WFRC Seattle.

Q5: If the fire alarm systems are to be included in the SOW, please provide copies of the last fire alarm inspection reports also.

A5: The last inspection is attached and lists deficiencies that are to be corrected for this contract.

SOW II Work Requirements, B Deliverables: A completed Fire panel/system 5-year inspection with a completed service report to bring the system into compliance.

Q6: Can you provide the contact information for the COR so we can schedule our site visit later this week.

A6: Please See Page 3 of this document.

Q7: To ensure the accuracy of our bid submission, we kindly request an equipment list, which, regrettably, was not included in the solicitation package.

A7: Attachment 2 “Full Set-Sprinkler System-Fire System West-03_17_1992” and Attachment 3 “Full Set-Simplex 4100 Fire Control 09_01_1992” are the Fire Alarm and Sprinkler drawings.

These are not verified as-builts and are the 30 year old original drawings which may contains errors, omissions, or equipment not shown. The contractor is encouraged to perform a site visit to verify scope of work and equipment.

Q8: In the event a site visit is not feasible for vendors at this time, we would greatly appreciate receiving an equipment list containing the make and model details, along with the quantities required. Additionally, if available, we kindly request access to the last 5YR Inspection report.

A8: A site visit (Please See Page 3 of this document) is scheduled for contractors to verify site equipment, make, model, and quantities required to perform the SOW. The last 5-year inspection report is not available for review.

Q9: Would it be possible to schedule a site visit for the scope?
