Questions and answers regarding the solicitation 140G0321Q0070, cableway removal:
1. Will the river be closed while the work is taking place ( i.e. visitors, boats, etc., will not be able to access the area)? Will the contractor be allowed to block the waterway from all sides temporarily to safely bring the cable down? All coordination to control access to the river while the cable is removed is the responsibility of the contractor. We are working on contact information to gain the necessary permissions which will be provided.
2. Is any of the material being salvaged (with the exception of the cable car) or is the contractor responsible for disposal? Disposal of material is up to the contractor.
3. Can the concrete mass anchors be removed entirely instead of demolishing a foot below grade? No, the concrete mass anchors will remain in place with the a-frame footers demolished to one foot below grade.
4. When bringing existing area up to grade, field dirt should be used instead of topsoil.
Please confirm. No, topsoil shall be used for fill.
5. Do you have any As-Builts or drawings for the structures the cable is attached to? The
USGS does not have As-Builts for this structure.
