About this file

This document is an amendment to a solicitation for radiochemistry analysis services. The U.S. Geological Survey is seeking analytical services for general radiochemistry analyses to be performed in accordance with the Multi-Agency Radiological Laboratory Analytical Protocols manual. The amendment incorporates questions and answers from a technical liaison to provide clarification. A NELAC certification will cover MARLAP protocols including DoD and EPA requirements and is the most important qualifying certification. The response due date is unchanged at September 8, 2023 by 12:00 PM MDT. The period of performance is from September 15, 2023 to September 14, 2028. Pricing details are provided in an appendix along with examples of required electronic data delivery and daily receipt files. Methods and reporting requirements are outlined in another appendix.

Government Response: The guidance we have used for these general radiochemistry analyses is the

Multi-Agency Radiological Laboratory Analytical

Protocols (MARLAP) manual

(https://www.epa.gov/radiation/marlap-manual-and-s upporting-documents). MARLAP contains guidance from several agencies including United States

Environmental Protection Agency, United States

Department of Defense, United States Department of Energy, United States Department of Homeland

Security, United States Nuclear Regulatory

Commission, United States Food and Drug

Administration, United States Geological Survey, and National Institute of Standards and

Technology. A NELAC certification should cover

MARLAP protocols, including DoD and USEPA requirements, and should be the most important qualifying certification.
