About this file
The document is a Salient Characteristics specification for a Current Profiling System solicitation by the US Geological Survey (USGS) Hydrologic Network Branch. The detailed technical requirements outline a portable, five-beam Acoustic Doppler Current Profiling (ADCP) system for discharge measurements, with specific performance specifications including a 600 kHz acoustic operating frequency, integral GPS, bottom tracking capability, and a 5-beam configuration with a vertical beam. The system must have precise technical capabilities, including a profiling range from 54 cm to 100 m, velocity resolution of 0.001 m/s, and wireless Bluetooth communications with a 100 m range.
The related federal contract opportunity (Solicitation Number 140G0125Q0138) seeks to procure this system for the USGS in Tuscaloosa, AL, with a delivery timeline of 60 days after order receipt. The solicitation is scheduled for release on 05/30/2025, with written quotes due by 06/04/2025 and an anticipated contract award date of 06/05/2025. The procurement falls under NAICS code 334513 with a size standard of 750 employees, and vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) to be eligible. Responses may be emailed to rlanderson@usgs.gov, with the system including a comprehensive package of hardware, mounting kit, software, and accessories.
