Questions and Answers

Question 1: , I am requesting to receive the contract number or numbers under which these services were performed and the name of the incumbent contractor for each of those contracts.

Answer 1: recent treatment contractor and contract number from 2 years ago. That was 140F0922P0257 by Mourney, Jonathan.

Question 2: Can the successful Offeror complete the job in less than 12 months? If accelerated completion is allowed, will it create additional benefits or disadvantages for FWS?

Answer 2: Yes, the contractor may finish before the end date.

Question 3: Is this solicitation (140FS324Q0150) under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold?

Answer 3: Yes

Question 4: How many acres were serviced in the contract (140F0922P0257) from two years ago that was awarded to Mourney, Jonathan?

Answer 4: Purchase order 140F0922P0257 was for 37 acres.

Question 5: Are there specific requirements or procedures we should follow for loading and hauling away large downed or dead trees that cannot be masticated on site?

Answer 5: The only place hauling will be allowed and required is the Pine Beach Wildfire Area for

1.1 acres.

All dead standing and downed trees 6 inches and above in diameter will be cut to 8 foot or below in length and removed legally off refuge at the contractors expense. Removal equipment will be low impact and not cause rutting. All damage to the Pine Beach Trail caused by the removal will be repaired to conditions prior to vegetation removal.

All dead and live trees 6 inches and below in diameter can be masticated/mulched on site as per the original scope of work.

Question 6: Is there a designated disposal site for these materials, or are contractors responsible for identifying appropriate dumping locations? If the latter, are there any local regulations or preferences that we should be aware of in choosing a disposal site?

Answer 6: Contractors are responsible for identifying appropriate dumping locations off refuge and it would be the contractor’s responsibility to research local regulations.
