1. Will I be responsible for writing the prescription?

The Refuge will be responsible for writing and coordinating spray application prescriptions according to insect pest and weed species on

Refuge. The Refuge will notify the flying service when to spray and what chemical to apply-

Refuge will also advise what rate to apply herbicide or insecticide. The Refuge will also provide the flying service a detail map of treatment acres and denoting number acres to treat.

2. Is this bid for the application only?

This bid for for application only.

3. Is this bid for application and chemical?

The Refuge will be responsible for providing the chemicals to the flying service. The flying

Service is only responsible for applying.

4. Section1.1 General: Refers to treating insects such as sugarcane aphids, stink bugs, and midge.

However, the RFQ refers to Aerial Herbicide

Spraying. Am I required to allow for the additional cost of insecticide?

If the flying service apply herbicide or insecticide the price should be the same per acre. Most of our applications are herbicide treatment but we do apply insecticide within our force account farming to control harmful pest within crops.

5. Is this a one time application, or does the same area get sprayed multiple times?

Depending on the crop type applications could be only one time or multiple.

6. Referring to the RFQ: There is a Unit Price/ Month and a Total Price.

Are we required to Quote total price then decide by 12 to quote Unit Price/ month?

Pricing should be per acre, this was a mistake on our behalf and will be corrected with the answers in the amendment.

7. Is the Unit Price/ Month, the sum that will be paid per month during a 12 month period?

The unit price is per acre and will be billed out once a month depending on if the Refuge called for application. Some months we do not apply just depends on our farming operations and time of year.

8. how many gallons of water are required per acre for the herbicide application, is there a set amount of acres projected to be done every year?

Normally the applicator will apply 5-7 gallons of water per acre for application. It is very difficult to project the number of acres due to weather, flooding, insect pest within crops, etc.

For example on a given year you may have terrible sugarcane aphids in milo crops and the next year you may not have any issues with aphids. Weather and environmental conditions play a huge role in the amount pest species and weeds present.
