PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT (SOW/PWS)

Fence Repair Project Background:

Sevilleta NWR received Deferred Maintenance funding in 2023. This funding was provided to remedy fencing/trespass issues on the refuge. The Refuge regularly deals with cattle trespass, all terrain vehicular trespass and recreational human trespass issues.

These disturbance based impacts do not fit within the establishing criteria of the Sevilleta NWR as written within the property transfer warranty deed. The deed states that the refuge must not be subjected to commercial exploitation, must maintain a naturally functioning system and implement long term research.

These fencing materials are critical for the Refuge to protect these sensitive resources.

The primary objective is to enhance the fencing system on the refuge at critical locations.

Scope of Work:

Refuge staff will purchase materials and physically erect fencing barriers at critical locations of the Refuge. This requires the use of a welding trailer, concrete mixer and other hand tools transported to remote locations of the refuge where issues exist. This effort will be completed within the next two years as weather permits.

Used oil pipes and sucker rods to be purchased.
