Enclosed Cargo Trailer FWS Seney National Wildlife Refuge

The US Fish and Wildlife Service’s Region 3 Fire Program has a requirement for the purchase and delivery of an enclosed cargo trailer (8.5’x16’). This trailer will be used off road by the Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) to transport a UTV and aerial drones.

Delivery is requested as soon as possible after receipt of award. Please include estimated delivery date and country of origin in quote. The unit must be fully assembled and ready for use upon delivery to 1674 Refuge Entrance Road, Seney, MI 49883- 9509.

Specifications:

• 8.5’x16’ trailer required. Wide and long enough to fit 6x6 CanAm Defender model UTV along with shelving units down the side and in front of UTV for up to 8 large pelican cases and supporting gear.

• Tandem 5200lb torsion axles with brakes (Allows for additional weight required for UTV and UAS gear and allows for higher required clearance and braking ability for use in steep rocky and rough terrain.)

• 19” of clearance required for use in steep rocky terrain.

• 16” on center walls, ceiling, and floor for added structural integrity and longevity to withstand use offroad in steep rocky and rough terrain and extend life of trailer.

• 5’x6’ Awning for access to safely enter and exit UTV as well as provide required shade over charging station for temperamental UAS batteries and vision of TV by fire operations personnel during adequate weather.

• 7’ interior height required to fit UTV into trailer for transport.

• Front generator platform with lockable enclosed box to provide required power to perform UAS operations, charging and secured storage of generator. This also allows use of 150 pound generator without having to move it.

• Flat nose NOT V NOSE trailer to provide room for required front generator platform.

• Rear ramp door with spring assist close and cam bars required for transportation of UTV as well as added security.

• Rear deck option required for additional workspace in off road terrain during adequate weather.

• Side walk-in door with RV lock and Cam bars for added security.

Enclosed Cargo Trailer FWS Seney National Wildlife Refuge

• Nudo high density polyethylene overlay floors and ramp. (Providing washable skid resistance, oil and grease resistance, abrasion protection for UAS operations and extended life of trailer.)

• Air conditioning unit (minimum 13,500 BTU) with heat strip for climate control required for maintaining temperamental UAS battery temps for continued operations during inadequate weather. (Batteries must be maintained in certain temperature ranges to remain operable during cold and hot weather.)

• Insulated walls and ceiling with aluminum liner required for climate control during inadequate weather. (Batteries must be maintained in certain temperature ranges to remain operable during cold and hot weather.)

• Mud terrain tires for added clearance and better durability in steep rocky and rough terrain.

• 30-amp power package with 4 interior outlets and 1 external GFI outlet.

• Two 120-volt interior 4’ long LED tube style ceiling lights required for night UAS operations.

• Battery box with battery charger.

• 6 interior puck lights. (12 volt)

• 2 exterior spot load lights required for night UAS operations.

• 2 exterior light bars off passenger side required for night UAS operations.

• Stabilizer jacks for support while not hooked to vehicle.

• 8’x7’ roof rack with ladder for required additional space to fit all UAS equipment and spare tire.

• Triple tube tongue with removable coupler required for added strength and rigidity during use in steep rocky and rough terrain. Removable coupler can be used for added security during travel or storage.

• Preferably white (or light) in color to help deflect some heat and aid the air conditioner during climate control use in hot weather.
