About this file
This document is an amendment to an announcement for a virtual Industry Day event hosted by the U.S. Department of Interior Construction Division. The objective of the event is to provide information to interested U.S. Design Builder contractors and architect-engineer firms on the general scope of design-build projects for the Midway Atoll in the Hawaii Pacific region. The proposed contract aims to improve the speed and efficiency of delivering crucial infrastructure projects and eliminate the reliance on existing externally-managed contract vehicles.
The key requirements include: constructing an inner harbor to accommodate current and future vessels; repairing the seawall to protect the inner harbor, Sand Island, and the airfield; and replacing the failing sewer system. The Design Builders will provide all design, management, supervision, labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary. The Industry Day will be held on November 14, 2024, and firms must RSVP by November 7, 2024 to attend. This announcement is not a contract solicitation but rather an intent to award a future contract under full and open competition, with only U.S. firms eligible.
