About this file
This document is an amendment to a solicitation for a federal contract opportunity. The purpose of this amendment is to provide answers to questions received regarding the solicitation.
The solicitation is for a construction contract for a warehouse facility with the Fish and Wildlife Service. The construction magnitude is between $250,000 and $500,000. The key details are that the building must have an interior bay depth of at least 39 feet to accommodate a specific boat and trailer, and the width must be sufficient to fit 3 ten-foot wide bay doors and 1 twelve-foot wide bay door. A wood-framed building with metal roofing and siding is acceptable, as the Fish and Wildlife Service is looking for the lowest cost solution. The period of performance is August 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025.

Questions and Answers
1. Are the drawings conceptual?
Answer: Yes, Drawings are purely a conceptual effort.
2. Is a wood framed building with metal roofing and siding acceptable?
Answer: Yes, FWS is looking for the lowest cost to the government in this contract. The design documents allowed for fabricated structural steel, pre-engineered metal construction, and wood framed with metal roofing and siding. Internal structural columns are acceptable but are to be placed in alignment with the spaces between the bay doors to prevent obstructing the bay spaces. If there is a beam it must not be hung lower than 12’ to avoid obstructing the height of the 12’x12’ bay door, as that is sized for a specific boat and trailer to be backed into this area.
3. The drawings show an inside building depth of 36 feet. Is this correct?
Answer: The inside building depth needs to be a 39’ minimum to accommodate a specific boat and trailer. Page 4 of the drawings called for a 40’ inside minimum but if there is a reason that this cannot be met, 39’ inside bay depth will work.
4. The outline specs call for 40 foot deep bay size. Will the FWS accept a wood framed building that would be 36ft X 100ft outside dimensions with interior dimensions of 35ft X 99ft?
Answer: FWS will accept a wood framed building, however the interior bay depth must be 39’ deep to accommodate our boat and trailer. Also I believe the width of the building was estimated to be 54’ to accommodate the 4 bay doors. The width of the building can vary (to save cost) but the width must accommodate 3x10’ wide bay doors and 1x12’ wide bay door.
