SCOPE OF WORK
REPAIR QUARTERS 4 ROOF
DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK
The work to be performed under this contract consists of Replacing the gutter over the garage and replacing a section of metal roof that came loose and rehabbing the fascia and barge boards around the house.
GENERAL
The Contractor shall furnish all planning, design, labor materials and equipment to perform the tasks detailed in this scope of work. The work shall include, but is not limited to the items below.
SCOPE
The house is located at the Carson National Fish Hatchery (14041 Wind River Hwy, Carson, WA 98610) and serves as a residence for USFWS or other employees. It is located at 142 Salmon Lane, Carson WA, 98610 and is referred to as Quarters # 4. During the winter, heavy snows have torn down the gutter above the garage (left photo). In the west valley of the north gable over the front door, heavy snow build up has caused the metal roof section to slide several inches, shearing off the roofing screws or ripping the metal off of the attachment points, creating areas of possible leakage (see right photo). This section of roof is approximately 86 square feet.
Approximately two barge boards and one fascia board need to be replaced due to rot. There may be other areas of rot, which would require replacement too, but we are not able to identify. The fascia boards and barge boards around the house also need to be sanded and painted as the paint is currently peeling off after years of very wet winters. The weather stripping around the garage doors has been damaged and needs to be replaced. Measurements should be verified by contractor.
Work includes the following:
• Replace the west side barge board (8 in X approximately 23 linear feet) and the fascia board (8 in X approximately 14 linear feet) to repair the area of rot where the fascia and barge board frame together on the front (north) gable.
• Replace the south side barge board that has a section of rot on the west end of the house (8 in X approximately 16 linear feet). There may be other areas of rot that need replacing that we have not been able to identify yet.
• Remove and dispose of 36 linear feet of damaged gutter and downspout.
• Preparation of approximately 230 linear feet of fascia and barge boards for painting.
• Paint fascia and barge boards. Paint should be an off white color.
• Replace 36 linear feet of gutter and downspout. Install to be able to withstand heavy snow.
• Remove and dispose of roofing over west side of north gable (over front door) that is sliding.
• Replace with new metal roofing, approximately 86 ft2.
• Furnish and install approximately 14 linear feet of new gable/barge drip flashing.
• Replace damaged weather stripping around both garage doors (95”x82”).
• Properly remove and dispose of all waste and debris.
