About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document (Amendment 0002) for federal contract opportunity 140FC126Q0030, addressing the AK-KENAI NWR Ranger Residence Water Filtration System solicitation.

The document addresses two technical inquiries regarding water quality and system specifications. Question 1 asks whether arsenic speciation testing has been performed to determine if the arsenic contamination is trivalent (As III) or pentavalent (As V) in form, given that arsenic levels exceed the Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL). The answer confirms that no such testing has been completed. Question 2 seeks clarification on the maximum required flow rate in gallons per minute (GPM) for the filtration system. The response indicates that the flow rate is dependent on the well pump output, with the exact maximum capacity unknown, but notes that the minimum flow rate for a residential well is 10 GPM. The document does not establish specific deadlines, pricing information, or award dates.

B09 Amendment 0002-Questions for AK-KENAI NWR-RANGER RESIDENCE WATER

FILTRATION SYSTEM 140FC126Q0030.

1. We understand that the arsenic level exceeds the MCL. Has an arsenic speciation test been performed to determine whether the arsenic is primarily trivalent (As III) or pentavalent (As V)?

Answer: No, this testing has not been completed.

2. What is the maximum required flow rate (GPM) for the system?

Answer: Flow rate is per output of the well pump. I am not positive as to exactly what that maximum capacity is but the minimum flow rate for a residential well would be 10 gpm.
