Key project requirements include: contractor-performed field surveys before demolition with work adjusted to field-verified conditions; simultaneous demolition of both Kettles 6 and 7 with contractor responsibility for dewatering and backflow prevention; Government-drained ponds remaining empty until project completion; contractor-supplied engineered fill and backfill material with no geotechnical data available; excavated material acceptable for backfill if deemed suitable; testing laboratory licensed in Oklahoma; 48-hour notice required for form/rebar inspections; stainless steel hardware for the 12-inch sluice/slide gate assembly; contractor-furnished screens/grates/guardrails with Government-provided stoplogs; no Government-provided electricity with canal water available at the deep well area via Government-provided pump; cast iron piping with 9-inch socket in good condition; 3000 PSI concrete strength with black steel reinforcement and broom finish on all walking surfaces including interior kettles and stairs; fixed kettle relocation distance of approximately 10 feet with compaction required 3 feet from structures; field-verified pipe tie-in locations; and a single lump-sum, firm-fixed-price contract award with progress payments based on satisfactory work completion. No asbestos remediation, liner work, liquidated damages, or temporary bypass systems are included; no blackout periods exist; work prohibited on weekends and Federal holidays unless authorized; after-hours work permitted after 5 p.m. and weekends if necessary; staging area designated in tower area; contractor responsible for all testing; and Government review of submittals typically completed within one to two days despite a 10-working-day specification period.

If no data exists, confirm the contractor should assume imported borrow is required for engineered fill and backfill unless field tests prove otherwise.
Answer: Contractor to import all engineered fill and backfill material. No geotechnical data available.
Question 5: The earthwork spec says unsuitable material from pond surfaces is to be disposed of in an on-site waste area designated by the Hatchery Manager, but the location and handling requirements are not defined. Please identify the on-site waste area designated by the Hatchery Manager for unsuitable excavated pond material, including haul distance, access route, placement requirements, and whether compaction/grading/erosion control is required at the disposal area.
Answer: Excavated material can be used for backfill if deemed suitable.
Question 6: Section 01410 states the lab must have authority or be licensed to operate in the State of Texas, while the project is located in Johnston County, Oklahoma. Please confirm whether the independent testing laboratory must be licensed/authorized in Oklahoma rather than Texas.
