This amendment is hereby issued to provide a map and to provide a RFI response as follows:
Q1. Are we able to load trucks on a barge and drive them onto the island with ramps and dump them at specific locations?
A1. There is only one specific location shown on the updated drawings for offloading.
However, if a contractor wants to use trucks offloaded from a barge that is acceptable. If the installation of a ramp requires in water work the contractor is responsible for acquiring necessary approvals, permits and or fees. The overflow area shown requires the

Q2. Can you provide the recommended scenarios to get the materials onto the island?
A2. The delivery of material of the material to the offloading site is to be determined by the contractor. Past projects have utilized barge mounted cranes.
Q3. Do the sites need to be prepped for heavy equipment or are they prepared already? To what degree are the sites ready for unloading?
A3. Past rip rap deliveries have not utilized on island equipment. Heavy equipment has been used on the island, but not large loaded dump trucks have not. The maintenance and restoration of damage to the roads by contractors equipment is the responsibility of the contractor.
Q4. What is the exact size of the riprap backing material you're looking for?
A4. Backing material is to be per ODOT requirements: Riprap Backing Material: Naturally or artificially well grade angular rock with nominal maximum size of 6" and having less than 5 percent passing the 1/4 inch sieve.
Q5. What would be the situation in the event that some of the roads were damaged in the hauling?
Would the contractors be held responsible for damage as a result of transporting the material?
A5. The maintenance and restoration of damage caused by the contractor is the responsibility of the contractor.
