Question 1: Which quantities should we be guided by? The estimated quantities sheet for June Convocation 2024 sheet shows different totals than the totals represented on the Pricing Schedule in Section 1.

Response: A revised pricing template is attached. We need a unit price quoted for the BPA.

The quantities will be established when the BPA calls are issued. The estimated quantities are provided for reference, so the vendor understands the expectations for this fiscal year.

This unit price will be provided to the Bureaus for ordering purposes. Bureaus may order via purchase card, or they may place larger BPA Call orders. The quantities will fluctuate from year to year, but we will do our best to provide the vendor with an estimate each year.

The quantities in the original pricing sheet were provided in error.

Question 2. In the SOW, section 2h, Presentation Cases, Emblem: the requirement says that the box shall be plastic with foam material for emblem to be attached to. Should the box be a clear plastic box? A plastic box with a clear cover only? We need more guidance about the appearance of the plastic box.

Response: They should be similar to the image below, but they do not have to look exactly the same as the image.

Question 3. The dies that will be provided, what material are the dies made of?

Response: They are steel dies made for die striking.

4. In the SOW, Section 3, Optional - Design Standardization: are you expecting the response to include the pricing for the task even though it is optional and at the discretion of the Government?

Response: Yes, all optional items should be priced. This should be unit pricing for purposes of establishing the BPA.

5. In the SOW, section 2i, the contracting officer can request that vendor be responsible for processing medals that are tarnished or previously engraved. That request would be made after pricing for other activities have been submitted. Will there be a contract action to adjust for the additional cost of processing these medals?

Response: This should be included in the optional items pricing under the “re-finish” charge.

6. Will the government entertain a suggestion to create the medals in a way that will reduce the carbon footprint, similar to the methods used for Olympic medals and be less subject to fluctuating prices of precious metals used in the process?

Response: Yes, we will consider this suggestion.
