Fiber Upgrade for Ft. Wingate High School

Questions Asked and Governments Response No. 1

Questioned Asked Governments Response

SOW states that: 8(qty) 6-strand MMF fiber cables will be installed to 8 IDF's from the MDF.

Questioned Asked: Line item one shows

1,524 feet of 24-strand MMF, is this correct, or should it be 6-strand MMF?

Governments Response: This is

Correct. Due to the infrastructure layout, there will be 2 24 pair stands that will be going to

(Girls and Boys Wings).

Questioned Asked: What are the distances from the MDF to each IDF?

Governments Response: I am including an excel file. Anticipated total footage is

4583. We will have to have some leverage

(Extra Slack) due to possible inaccuracy. But we did measure it out.

Questioned Asked: Line item 13 shows 5,000 feet of Inner Duct. Line Item 14 shows 4(qty)

1,000 foot Jet Line. Line Item 13 shows(3)

2,500 foot Jet Line. Is this correct?

Governments Response: This is correct based on yardage measured.

Questioned Asked: Line item 15 shows 55 splices, if we are doing 8(qty) 6-strand fiber splices, that would be 96 total splices.

Governments Response: The location where the 24 Strands will go the fusion splicing will happen for the 18 available strands. 2 of the

Six Strands will be already in an IDF

Closet.

I believe I may have over looked this one. Since the extended fiber will be running of the 24 strands. 18 Each will be Fusion

Spliced. So that would make total. Since Each

Boys and girls Wing will be getting their own

24 strand fiber runs.

SOW states that: all of the data cables that are going to the upper level will need to be toned/tagged/labeled and punched down at the patch panel in the upper IDF closets.

Questioned Asked: How many cables is this for each IDF?

Governments Response: This will vary due to the number of offices in each of the wings.

Lower Girls - North IDF - 21 Data

Drops South IDF - 24 Data

Drops Upper Girls - North IDF 21 Data

Drops South IDF - 22 Data Drops

Lower Boys - North IDF - 24 Data

Drops South IDF - 21 Data

Drops Upper Boys - North IDF - 24 Data

Drops South IDF - 22 Data Drops

SOW states that: All upper IDF closets will get their own stands installed, Patch Panels, Fiber Trays, LC adapters, LC termination per strand, Cat 6 punched and labeled to each office location/installed location.

1. Questioned Asked: There is no line item for patch panels in the pricing summary.

Governments Response: This is something I overlooked. But Each of the 4 wings will need

Patch Panels (Cat 6)

SOW states that: The vendor shall perform all tasks and duties in a professional manner throughout the duration of the project for the replacing/upgrading of the Cisco

Switches.

Questioned Asked: There are no line items for the Cisco Switches. Are these switches to be provided by the contractor, if so can we get model # and quantity needed?

Governments Response: The Fiber contract will be focused on the Fiber Install. The Cisco

Switches will be with a different Vendor on a separate contract.

SOW states that: Local Vendor in New

Mexico is needed due to safety concerns that may, do or have arisen in the past that required the vendor to be on-site within 24 hours to fix the deficiency that occurs with the installation.

Questioned Asked: We are a vendor with offices in Utah and Arizona, but can accommodate the requirement of the 24 hour response. Is that acceptable?

Governments Response: This is Acceptable.
