This document is a Technical Manual (TM) Supplement dated 7 August 2021 for airdrop rigging procedures of Military Utility Vehicles, specifically the MRZR4-900/Diesel. The manual provides detailed instructions for rigging military vehicles for airborne operations, including preparation of platforms, building honeycomb stacks, positioning loads, securing vehicles, installing suspension slings, stowing parachutes, and installing release systems. It covers three primary scenarios: MRZR4 on a Combat Expendable Platform (CEP), MRZR4 on a Type V platform, and two MRZR4s on a Type V platform.
The manual is applicable to the Active Army, Army National Guard, Army Reserve, United States Marine Corps, Navy, and Air Force. It is published by the Aerial Delivery and Field Services Department and serves as a comprehensive guide for aerial delivery personnel. The document includes detailed tables, figures, and step-by-step instructions for safely and correctly rigging military utility vehicles for airdrop missions, with explicit safety notices ranging from danger to caution levels to prevent potential injury or equipment damage.

Preface
TM 4-48.08/TO 13C7-2-491 is a doctrine based departmental publication that provides information on how to prepare and rig loads for airborne operations. This manual provides rigging instructions for most circumstances, but it is not a substitute for sound judgement. Mission requirements may require modification of the procedures, such as variations in the accompanying load.
The principal audience for TM 4-48.08/TO 13C7-2-491 is all members of the aerial delivery community.
Commanders and staffs of Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and Air Force headquarters serving as joint task force or multinational headquarters should also refer to applicable joint or multinational doctrine concerning the range of military operations and joint or multinational forces. Trainers and educators throughout the Department of Defense will also use this publication.
Commanders, staffs, and subordinates ensure that their decisions and actions comply with applicable United States, international, and in some cases host-nation laws and regulations. Commanders at all levels ensure that their personnel operate in accordance with the law of war and the rules of engagement.
