About this file
This document is a Single Source Justification (Simplified Acquisition) for the 809 Maintenance Support Squadron (MXSS) at Hill AFB. The procurement involves purchasing a Stratasys Emerald Care Maintenance Package for seven existing 3D printers, including two 370 series, two 450 series, and three 900 series printers, with an estimated contract cost of $808,055.00. Stratasys Inc., the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), is the sole authorized service provider for maintenance on the 450 and 900 series printers, citing potential warranty issues and compromised printer performance if unauthorized third parties perform maintenance.
The document indicates that while two other businesses (GoEngineer LLC and Phoenix Analysis & Design Technologies Inc.) have Stratasys trained technicians, Stratasys Inc. remains the exclusive maintenance service provider. The government plans to continue monitoring the industry and will require Hill AFB to replace all Stratasys 3D printers in the future to avoid brand-name award issues. The contracting officer, Staff Sergeant Lelauni J. Jenkins, determined on August 27, 2025, that the circumstances justify a single source procurement in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1).
